Letter from the Director
Dear Parents, Families,
Teachers, Community Members, and Guests:
Whoever touches the life of the child touches
the most sensitive
point of a whole which has roots in the
most distant past and climbs toward the infinite future.
- Maria Montessori -
As Montessori educators, we see ourselves as fortunate for having the opportunity
to work with young children and their families, as well as future Montessori
educators, as a Lab School for the MECA-Seton
Teacher Education Program. Having been accredited by both the
NAEYC and AMS,
we are proud to be an example of excellent early childhood education outside
of the Montessori community as well as within. Our
school has chosen to focus on this most important time in every child’s
life – from
before birth to age six – because it is the foundation from which the rest
of their life experiences will grow. The Montessori
approach
offers so much to these youngest members of society that will help them to
become engaged
and enthusiastic about their experiences.
At Seton Montessori School
and the Montessori Infant & Toddler Community,
our goal for each and every child is that, beyond supporting the academic,
physical and emotional development that is necessary for success, we hope
to instill a
joy of learning that will affect their experiences well beyond their first
six years. What we want most for our children is that they become
passionate about their own learning, and that they have the tools and skills
necessary
for them
to pursue educational experiences as they grow and develop.
If you are a parent
who is not yet a member of the Seton Community, let me take this opportunity
to invite you to observe a Montessori classroom in action.
Seeing
the beauty of our newly refurbished indoor facilities and outdoor environment
of three wooded acres, as well as the
buzz of active engagement
going on in
our classrooms. First hand observation is the best way to know for sure that
our school is the right match for your child and family!
For our current families,
as well as alumni, I hope that you find our website useful; it has features
and flexibility that should help to connect our community
through
yet another avenue. Please contact us with any questions or suggestions for
future website development. Also, click here to be added to our Seton Montessori
email
updates – this will allow you to receive reminders of upcoming events
through the Internet and facilitate participation at Seton happenings…
On behalf of the world-class staff and
faculty of Seton Montessori School and the Montessori Infant & Toddler Community, it is my great pleasure to welcome
you to our website. We look forward to serving the needs of your children! Sincerely,
Anna P. Perry, Ed.M.
