Parent-Child Programs

Our parent-infant and parent-child programs are designed to satisfy the needs of today’s parents by giving the specifics of best practices for the total development of the young child. Research demonstrates that a child's growth is highly dependent on the parent's awareness of his or her needs. Offered by the Montessori Infant & Toddler Community at Seton Montessori School, these parent-child programs enable the parent to bring to their child a proven, scientific, and humanistic approach to facilitating growth.

The program is under the guidance of Eva Parrucci, who holds an M.A. in family counseling, is a specialist and consultant in infant, toddler, and early childhood education for the American Montessori Society, and who is the Coordinator of the Montessori Infant & Toddler Community.

A specially relaxed, prepared environment is created to bring adults and children together. Here we explore and discuss toys, activities, and techniques identified today as best practices, all to enhance the parenting experience.

Parent-Infant Class (Prebirth to 24 months)

Held in a unique environment, this class provides the space where parents can learn the art of observing their won child and what they need at each specific phase of development. Issues to be addressed include breast-feeding and weaning, discipline, nutrition, language development, sleep concerns, physical growth, and levels of development

Parent-Child Class (18 to 24 months)

This class introduces the parents to the latest discoveries and ongoing research in child development, analyzing what the child needs at this point in his or her growth. A relaxed atmosphere is created where adults and children can relate to each other while observations and discussions are ongoing. Issues to be addressed include toilet training, meals and nutrition, discipline and motivation, language needs, social habits and levels of development.

Enrollment Information

Both classes meet one day each week for the duration of the session. We offer 4 different six-week sessions throughout the year; one each in the fall, winter, early spring, and late spring. We also offer one 7 week session during the Summer months. Parents attend one session, several, or the entire series over the year; the program is completely flexible. The summer session is held in our beautiful outdoor environment and includes a swimming lesson, visits with the animals, and class time

Tuition for our program depends on the class chosen and the session or sessions attended; please contact Eva Parrucci or the registrar at (630) 655-1066 for details.
