Description: Seton Montessori Institute and School is hiring an Infant & Toddler Program Coordinator to join our Seton Montessori Institute & School community in Clarendon Hills, IL. The Infant & Toddler Program Coordinator will be a member of our leadership team helping to develop and direct infant and toddler programs for both our school and Montessori teacher education programs. The Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting the teachers, students, and parents, as well as adult learners in the teacher education program, in a variety of ways that nurture authentic relationships, develop competence, and foster trust, confidence, and a shared belief in the organization’s mission, vision and values.

Seton Montessori Institute & School has been educating children since 1965 and preparing adults for work in Montessori settings for over 50 years. Accredited by the American Montessori Society (AMS), the school offers all day and half day programs for children from infancy through sixth grade. This full-time, year-round position provides an opportunity to work with children, families, and adult learners, an established and engaged professional team, and to receive great benefits in a highly regarded AMS and MACTE-accredited Montessori community.

General Responsibilities:

  • Create and support a welcoming and inclusive culture

  • Provide leadership to the Infant & Toddler programs faculty and staff

  • Ensure academic integrity and that licensing and accreditation standards are being met by the school

  • Execute educational and administrative policies for the successful operation of the Infant & Toddler programs for children and adults

  • Act as a liaison for integration between the staff and the administration

  • Serve as the primary contact for parent and adult learner relationships with the administration

  • Coordinate substitutions, staff meetings, and school closings

  • Maintain inventory of materials and supplies to ensure complete, beautiful, and age-appropriate Montessori learning environments

Additional Seton Montessori School Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the work of teachers, assistants, and student teachers, and ensure that they carry out school educational policies

  • Observe each classroom regularly to assist teachers in evaluating themselves and their classroom

  • Review monthly record keeping from each classroom and help create plans for any necessary clarification and action

  • Support all forms of parent education and involvement in school activities

Additional Seton Montessori Institute Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, advise, guide and visit participants in the Infant & Toddler Certification Course

  • Provide leadership on program development, marketing efforts, and design of course literature

  • Maintain affiliation responsibilities such as required annual reporting to AMS and MACTE

  • Plan, coordinate and lead academic sessions

  • Report on the progress of adult learners and course developments

  • Evaluate and record all assignment work completed by adult learners

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Montessori Infant-Toddler certification from an AMS or AMI MACTE accredited program

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any subject

  • Minimum of three years of experience working with children in a Montessori setting, post-certification

  • Dedication to Montessori philosophy

  • Ability to build strong and supportive relationships with parents, staff, faculty, and adult learners

  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

  • Collaborative nature and a striving for excellence

  • Strong time management and follow-through skills

  • Open to feedback from school or teacher education community members

  • Completion of IL Department of Children and Family Services (Daycare Licensing)requirements

  • Physical dexterity and ability to lift children up to 40 pounds

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of experience working with adult learners

  • Previous experience working in school or teacher education leadership

  • Graduate degree in a related field
