Catherine Chavez

Catherine Chavez is an Assistant Teacher in the Toddler House. Catherine has over 12 years of experience working with children in a variety of childcare and child development settings, supporting children from 5 weeks old through 13 years old. She was first introduced to Montessori while taking Early Childhood Education classes and was immediately drawn to the philosophy and the respect it shows for each child’s independence, curiosity, and natural development.

After becoming a mother, her connection to Montessori grew even stronger. Wanting to support her daughter’s growth through Montessori principles inspired her to continue learning more about the approach and eventually become a part of a Montessori school community.

One of Catherine’s favorite parts of being in the classroom is watching children grow in confidence, develop independence, and discover new skills through hands-on learning. Supporting their curiosity and watching them take pride in their accomplishments is one of the most rewarding parts of her work.

Outside of the classroom, Catherine enjoys spending time with her family. They love trying new restaurants, listening to music, and watching movies together. She also enjoys reading, watching cooking shows, and doing puzzles.
