Description: Seton Montessori School is actively seeking an Infant and Toddler Lead Teacher to join our Seton Montessori Institute & School community in the beautiful area of Clarendon Hills, IL beginning in August 2025.
The position is a full-time opportunity to work with children, an amazing team, and to receive great benefits at a highly regarded Lab School for Seton Montessori Institute teacher education program.

Seton Montessori School (SMS) is in Clarendon Hills, Illinois. We offer school year and summer camp programs for children from birth through Elementary age. Located on a scenic six-acre campus, nestled amid a residential setting, Seton’s facilities offer children the finest in indoor and outdoor environments for learning and growing.
Our experienced and dedicated staff helps the child develop an awareness of themselves and the world around them. The child works and learns in an atmosphere of balanced independence and structure within a mixed-age group setting.
SMS partners Seton Montessori Institute, one of the largest Montessori teacher education programs in North America. As a result, our staff practices the most current and progressive teaching methods in an authentic Montessori classroom.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the execution of the educational and administrative policies and the successful operation of the classroom
• Prepare the environment and all materials for the classroom
• Ensure that the classroom is clean at the end of each day through general clean-up
• Prepare, maintain, and clean-up the outside environment and materials
• Monitor the general safety of children while outdoors
• Create learning experiences to support the connection of the child to natural experiences
• Tidy up of the outdoor environment after each session
• Ensure each child has access to the environment needed to improve skills
• Partner with parents regularly to support their children’s progress
• Keep records on the progress and attendance of each child
• Direct and develop assistants and student teachers
Minimum Qualifications:
• Strong desire to work with children and make a difference
• Dedication to Montessori philosophy
• Strong classroom management skills
• Ability to build strong and supportive relationships with parents and staff
• Commitment to continued professional development
• Ability to collaborate with a dynamic teaching team
• Physical dexterity and ability to lift children up to 40 pounds
• Actively working towards a bachelor’s degree in any subject
• Actively working towards a Montessori Certificate
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children
• Completion of DCFS requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in any subject
• Montessori Infant-Toddler certification from a MACTE-accredited program
• Minimum of two years of experience working with children
