Job Title: Early Childhood Assistant Teacher or Intern

Description: Our school is AMS-accredited and recognized by the Illinois State Board of Education. We serve children ages 3 - 9th grade in custom-designed buildings on our scenic 8-acre campus. We are looking for energetic and motivated assistant teachers or interns to join our staff at the primary level for the 2025-26 school year. This is a full-time opportunity to work with children and a supportive team with excellent benefits.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Establish meaningful, respectful relationships with each child, and support their independence.
• Assist the Directress in providing opportunities for children to connect with the outdoors.
• Work with all faculty and staff to ensure the safety of all students.
• Demonstrate enthusiasm for Montessori philosophy and continued professional development.
• Prepare and maintain a clean and orderly environment, ensuring materials are complete, appealing, and ready to meet the needs of the age group.
• Supervise the children during lunchtime, recess, carpool, and all classroom activities and transitions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree required. Montessori training is a plus.
• 1-2 years of related experience working with children.
• First Aid, CPR, and Mandated Reporter training are required and offered upon employment.
• Strong observation, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
• Must be adaptable to various learning styles and the changing needs of the school.
• Strong desire to work with children and make a difference.
