Job Description
This position leads 7th and 8th-grade Science and Math through a cohesive, Montessori-based curriculum. The instructor will bridge the gap between mathematical theory and scientific inquiry by integrating real-world applications. Students engage in hands-on exploration and problem-solving in a dynamic environment.
The ideal candidate will foster curiosity about the natural world and help adolescents develop scientific thinking through observation, experimentation, and discovery. This role emphasizes interdisciplinary integration, helping students discover the natural harmony between science, mathematics, and the humanities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
● Encourages innovation, creativity, and collaboration through hands-on projects and experiences.
● Connects classroom learning to real-world applications and global perspectives.
● Creates and executes daily lesson plans aligned with Intercultural’s curriculum framework, meeting both state standards and Montessori expectations.
● Uses school assessment data as a guide to provide targeted instruction
● Communicates regularly with the lead Middle School teacher regarding student progress
● Continuously monitors the progress of students and adjusts instruction, groupings, etc., accordingly
● Maintains up-to-date records of student progress and grades
● Communicates at regular intervals with parents
● Other duties as required

Preferred Certification and Experience:
● Experience designing and teaching Math & Science lessons
● Proven track record of successfully supporting students in science & math
● Collaborative spirit and interest in co-teaching and cross-disciplinary planning

Qualifications:
● Bachelor's Degree required in Science, Math or Education(with an endorsement in Math & Science)
● At least 3 years of teaching experience with adolescents required
● Professional Educator License (Illinois Teaching License)
● Montessori Trained preferred
