Description: Montessori Children's House of North Barrington is actively seeking a Teacher Assistant for our community. We are looking to hire an individual who enjoys working with young children in a warm, caring environment.
Our Montessori preschool and toddler classrooms operate year round, and our school is open currently from 8:15 am - 4:15 pm.
We are seeking a candidate for the hours of 8:00 am - 4:15 pm five days per week to serve as an assistant to a Montessori credentialed teacher in the Early Childhood Program (ages 3 – 6 years) to start as soon as possible.
Our experienced and dedicated staff helps the child develop an awareness of themselves and the world around them. The child works and learns in an atmosphere of balanced independence and structure within a mixed-age group setting.
Montessori Children’s House of N.Barrington serves as a Lab School for Seton Montessori Institute, one of the largest and longest-standing AMS Montessori teacher education programs in North America.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma required
Previous Montessori and/or other related teacher/teacher assistant experience required
College-level course work in Early Childhood education preferred
Commitment to learning about Montessori philosophy and education
Commitment to continued professional development
Ability to collaborate with a dynamic teaching team
Successful background check and fingerprinting are required as conditions for employment. Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications within DCFS licensing standards. MCHNB is an equal opportunity employer.
