Country Meadows Montessori School in Gurnee, IL is seeking a warm, dedicated Primary Guide to join our early childhood community for the 2026–27 school year. Our school is rooted in authentic Montessori practice, deep respect for the child, and a joyful, collaborative spirit.
As a Primary Guide, you will lead a beautifully prepared environment where children can explore, grow, and develop independence. You’ll partner closely with families, work alongside supportive colleagues, and contribute to a nurturing, peaceful classroom community.
What We’re Looking For
• A Montessori Primary credential (AMS/AMI/MACTE)
• Experience guiding a Primary classroom or working in early childhood
• A calm, observant, and responsive approach to children
• Someone who values collaboration, grace and courtesy, and strong communication
• A guide committed to Montessori philosophy and continuous professional growth
What You’ll Do
• Lead a Primary classroom with intention, consistency, and care
• Prepare and maintain an inviting, orderly, developmentally aligned environment
• Observe children closely to support individualized learning
• Foster independence, concentration, and joyful discovery
• Build warm relationships with families through clear, respectful communication
• Collaborate with assistants and colleagues to support a thriving school community
