Spark is an authentic Montessori school serving children aged 15 months-6 years old. We foster young children's independence and self-development by creating an inclusive, supportive, and engaging environment. Spark maintains a Spanish-English dual language program and has a goal of staffing a Spanish-English bilingual adult in each classroom. Spanish language skills are not a qualification for this role.

This role requires Montessori certification; we will consider the right candidates if they are currently in training, or interested in Montessori training and certification, and will be able to enter and complete training while employed at Spark.

Role Expectations

Develop and implement Montessori lessons that are informed by child observations
Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment
Encourage children’s social skills and emotional growth
Exhibit patience, organization, and leadership in the classroom
Maintain passion for the Montessori pedagogy and working with young children
Model Montessori practices and provide ongoing guidance to classroom assistants
Work collaboratively and cooperatively with other teammates and leadership team
Communicate and collaborate with parents
Participate in staff meetings and parent education events
Uphold Spark Montessori’s mission and values in daily practice and decision-making
Demonstrates a reflective practice and welcomes feedback as part of professional growth
Work with teammates to creatively and proactively solve problems
Commit to continuous professional development and growth
Qualifications

AMS or AMI certified at the Primary level (3-6)
At least 3 years of experience working in a Montessori classroom
Meet the DCFS requirements for a teacher
Aligned candidates who are currently in training, or committed to begin training, in order to complete their certification, will also be considered for this role

Compensation: $45,000-$65,000
The low end of our range of compensation reflects the expected salary for candidates who are currently in Montessori training with a commitment to achieve certification.
